2008 Arkansas River Cruise

&

Beach Party

June 20th – 23rd 2008

This 4 day adult trip is planned primarily for Cruisers and Cuddys. Captains with Small Runabouts could tent camp for the 1st night at the RV Park and beach camp the other nights. We will be going through 3 locks and a total of 116 miles. If you’ve never taken a boat through a lock before you will find this very exciting. Also, we will encounter large commercial vessels, strong currents and navigational channels that will test you, your crew and your boat. If this sounds like fun read on!

Cruise Overview

Day 1:

We will be going about 47 miles down river. This will be slow leisurely pace. We will have the opportunity to tie boats together, boat hop, do some floating and take in the scenery.  We can beach the boats for lunch just passed lock 14. We will stop at Goose Harbor 479-474-9898 for fuel, ice…

Night 1:

We will stay at Spring Hill Park. Enter the cove via the jetty cutout. This Park has showers and toilets and a small dock. If you are planning on camping, you might make reservations.  Park office phone number is 479-452-4598.

Day 2 / Night 2:

We will make a short 11 mile cruise down river and beach for the night just pass the Gun Club Beacon; this area will be the place for our beach party and boat loads of fun. Be aware that the river levels change very fast. You don’t want your boat high and dry in the morning. There are no showers, fresh water or dock. This area is very primitive.

Day 3:

Today’s Cruise will be up river 42 miles. We will make a stop at Goose Harbor for fuel, ice…

Night3:

We will spend the night at Cache Creek. There are no showers, fresh water or dock. This area is very primitive.

Day 4:

This will be a short cruise up river 16 miles. After passing Lock 15 we will load the boats and head home.
